GIVING TUESDAY – November 30, 2021GivingTuesday is a global generosity movement unleashing the power of radical generosity. GivingTuesday was created in 2012 as a simple idea: a day that encourages people to do good. Since then, it has grown into a year-round global movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity.
Join the movement and give – each Tuesday and every day – whether it’s some of your time, a donation, or the power of your voice in your local community. |
THE GIVING TREE – A place of communal support, celebration, & remembranceSo many community members have benefited from the kindness and giving of Helping Hands of Alberton throughout the year, from providing student scholarships to serving senior citizens. But what this group is most famous for is providing gifts and other goods to children and their families in need during the holidays. Who better for PEAK to partner with for this year’s reintroduction of the Giving Tree?! With the combined efforts of Helping Hands of Alberton, PEAK, and our community members, we’ll be able to bring a bit of happiness to those who need it. Here’s how it works:
Are you missing someone this year? The Giving Tree at the Alberton Community Center will be lit Friday, Nov. 26. Anytime thereafter you are invited to come place a candle in a loved one’s memory. Can you help a family in need? To support families who could use a helping hand, keep an eye on the Giving Tree for anonymous gift tags with a recipient’s age and “wish list.” To fulfill a request, remove the tag from the tree and drop off your unwrapped gift at the Alberton school office M-Th 3-3:30 or contact PEAK for pickup by December 23. Gifts will be delivered by December 24. Could your family use extra help this holiday season? If your family would like help with clothing, food, or gifts, please contact PEAK by December 17th. Include your name and address (for delivery purposes only), and any relevant information to help the gift-giver. Tags placed on the tree will not include identifying information. |
