Melissa HornPresident
Melissa Horn and her husband are both Montana natives and the parents of two beautiful children. She works part time at the Do Crew Salon in Missoula as a hairdresser. She enjoys all of the outdoor activities that Montana has to offer, her favorite being fishing, followed by 4-wheeling. Melissa is also a reader, quilter, cake decorator, and scrap booker. She was compelled to join PEAK after their 2013 Winter Festival, where she realized that it was a group that is working toward making positive changes for the young children in the community. With her own children now growing up in this quaint town, she wishes for there to be ample opportunities from them to engage in fun activities with children their ages outside of school events. |
Laura AckerVice President
Laura Acker is originally from Minneapolis, MN, but after living in Montana for 13 years, calls Alberton her home. She shares her life with her husband and three beautiful children. Laura’s outgoing personality lends naturally to her passions in community organizing and nonprofit development. She has obtained the majority of her skills through volunteering within the community of Alberton, while taking time off work to raise three children. Spearheading the local food pantry is by far one of her greatest accomplishments. Developing PEAK is important to Laura because she recognizes that the Alberton area is in desperate need for activities that are specific to children and young adult’s interests. Laura is honored to be working in a group of dynamic and passionate community members such as these. |
Kelly HartSecretary
Kelly Hart lives in Alberton with her husband and their dog and two cats. She moved from Pennsylvania to Montana in 2004 to be an AmeriCorps VISTA (Volunteer In Service To America) and has called the state home ever since. She runs a business, Hart of Montana Consulting, out of her home. She began volunteering with PEAK as a way to become involved in the community and joined the board a year later. When not working or volunteering, Kelly can often be found running the roads and trails around Alberton. |
Janel BichaTreasurer
Janel Bicha is a Montana-born native raised in Missoula. She is married and has two children. Her daughter, son-in-law and two grandchildren live in Alberton, while her son lives in Portland, OR. She retired in 2014 after working 20 years as a bank teller. Janel became the treasurer after her daughter, Melissa, asked her to become involved with the PEAK Foundation. She felt compelled to join because her two grandchildren are growing up in the Alberton area. |

Jaime Odell has lived in Alberton since 2003 with her husband, Brad, her three children, and often what feels like too many pets. She works from home as an Editorial Manager for Online Training Solutions, Inc. Her love of the Alberton community has grown each year she’s lived here, reaching the point that she felt compelled to join PEAK in an effort to give back to the community that has given her such a great place to live. |
Brigid DaviesBoard Member
Brigid Davies and her husband are Alberton natives and enjoy spending time at her mom’s Petty Creek property with their two dogs, curled up reading a book with their large tabby cat, or exploring the local woods hunting for huckleberries or beautiful scenery. Brigid has an Elementary Education degree from Montana State University but chose to continue her seasonal Forest Service position for the East Zone Silviculture crew after graduation. Her job gives her the opportunity to enjoy the wildlife and public lands of 9-Mile, Missoula and Seeley Districts. Brigid started volunteering with PEAK in 2017 after hearing about PEAK at the local book club and became a member in 2019. She also volunteered with American Legion Auxiliary and currently volunteers at the Food Pantry. |
Alyssa ProbstBoard Member
Alyssa was born and raised in Lincoln, Montana, but has lived in Alberton with her husband, Adam, since 2014. They are the proud parents of one young daughter and four dogs. Alyssa is a fifth generation Montanan and is close with her many extended family members throughout the state. Alyssa works as an attorney at Milodragovich, Dale, and Steinbrenner, P.C. in Missoula. Alyssa also holds a Master’s in Public Administration, and has true passion for public service. Though she spends working hours in Missoula, she spends the vast majority of her free time in the Alberton area, where she and her family prefer to spend their time engaging in whatever outdoor recreational activities the Montana seasons permit. Alyssa joined the PEAK Board in 2019 after observing the incredible work PEAK was doing to improve the Alberton community and create opportunities for area youth. She is eager to do her part to continue this trend and give back to the community she has grown to know and love. |
Ashley SchatzBoard Member
Ashley Schatz moved to Montana to attend the University of Montana. She loved Montana so much that she decided to buy a house in Alberton. She never thought she would end up in a small town, but it was the best thing she ever did! She thanks her parents for the move and understands why they chose to relocate the family now that she’s a parent. She has an amazing 10-year-old boy, a fantastic husband, and two loveable fur babies. She is the District Secretary at Alberton School. She describes herself as outgoing, spontaneous, adventurous, loud, daring, dependable, caring, and understanding. She has participated in PEAK events since she moved to Alberton. When an opportunity arose to become a board member, she went for it. She knew she’d be a great fit because she takes pride in the relationships she has built with not only students and staff, but the community. She is honored to be a part of something so amazing that makes a difference in the place she raises her son. She is passionate about making other people smile, math/numbers, trying new things, cleaning/organizing, outdoors (especially fishing), and capturing moments with her camera. Her biggest downfalls are not being able to say “No” and prioritizing! She looks forward to seeing what the future holds for her family in the place she calls not just her home, but her Paradise. |
